Colour Belt Team
The next RITA National Colour Belt Development Squad training session will be held in St Marks Taekwon-Do School, Tallaght on Sunday, 5th February from 11am to 1pm.

Following on from this the date for the March session is Saturday, 3rd March in Limerick Taekwon-Do School, Moylish Sports Complex, Limerick Institute of Technology.

These squad sessions are open to all RITA colour belts, both junior and senior
Congratulations to Hannah Eade from Carrick-on-Suir and Kia Conaty-Carley from Kilmacow who have been selected to represent Ireland at the European Championships in Bulgaria 23-30 April.

Well done to Eanna Hardesty, Carrick TKD and Damien Vaughan, Galway TKD, who took part in the ITA Open Championships in Limerick yesterday, as part of the RITA National Colour Belt Development Squad. Eanna won bronze in red belt patterns and sparring, and Damien won silver in blue belt patterns and bronze in sparring. They are pictured here with Coach, Mr Paul Tobin and Assistant Coach Mr Adam Fox.

The next training session will be in Carrick-on-Suir on Saturday, 7th January.

Note re 1st Kups (10-13 years)
The 2012 European ITF Championships will be held from the 22nd to 29th April in Sofia, Bulgaria. In the children's section 1st Kups (10-13 years) can compete. The RITA National Colour Belt Development Squad sessions will be used as a way of assessing 1st Kups, so if you are interested in taking part in the European Championships you are advised to attend training regularly.

Hannah EadeCongratulations to Hannah Eade, 1st Kup from Carrick-on-Suir Taekwon-Do School who won Best Overall Colour Belt in the Under 13 section of the recent Welsh Open Championships.  Hannah is a member of the RITA National Colour Belt Development Squad "A" Team who represented the RITA at this competition.  She won gold in patterns, gold in sparring and silver in special technique.

Under the guidance of Coach Mr Paul Tobin and Assistant Coach Mr Adam Fox, the 12 member RITA National Colour Belt Development Squad came 4th overall out of 59 schools and 292 competitors.  They brought home a total of 23 medals (9 gold, 5 silver and 9 bronze).  Well done to everyone involved.

The RITA colour belt development squad competed in the Welsh open championships at university welsh institute in Cardiff wales on Sunday the 25th september . Winning a total of 23 medals 9 gold 5 silver 9 bronze . There was 280+ competitors . This was the first outing for the A squad proving to be very successful . Coaches Mr Paul Tobin 4th deg and Mr Adam Fox 4th deg were delighted with the performance.

The schools represented were Grandmaster Howards Dojang, Carrick-on-Suir, Athlone, Galway, Rowlagh, Kilmacow, Firhouse and Fethard. Well done to everyone involved.
